Aston Canggu Beach Resort is a four-star hotel located in Canggu, the emerging area in Bali where the vibrancy of Seminyak meets the tranquility of Uluwatu. The Aston hotel boasts amazing sunset views of Batu Bolong beach. Located in one of the best parts of Bali, with breathtaking ocean views, they offer the chance to indulge in fun-filled beach days and a vibrant atmosphere. Guests enjoy being a mere 75 metres from Batu Bolong Beach, a famous surfing spot where you can watch the sunrise from the Hotel’s top Pool deck.

This was “my perfect home in Canggu”,.. and the Beach Resort is located only a short 60-minute drive away from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and walking distance from the famous surfing points such as Batu Bolong Beach.

UpZscale Sky Dining and Bar on Rooftop
The hotel features two dining options; the Cubana Restaurant & Bar located in the lobby area serving up international cuisine, and the rooftop dining venue adjacent to the swimming pool, the UpZscale Sky Dining & Bar.I really enjoyed my early morning swim up her and then had the pleasure of looking out over the Indian Ocean as I devoured my tasty Buffet Breakfast and specially cooked Omelette.
The hotel management have managed to create an inviting atmosphere where guests can unwind and enjoy their time to the fullest.
The Rooftop dining venue, UpZscale Sky Dining and Bar is situated right next to the pool, so it is one combined dining and entertainment area with welcoming atmosphere and staff.

About swimming pool located on the rooftop, where you can sunbathe and relax, or even catch glimpses of the gorgeous Balinese sunset. It includes a children’s pool area, so you don’t have to worry about what your little ones are up to as you get your laps in.

Restaurant Dining Options
The restaurant offers an extensive range of Dining options including a Buffet Lunch or dinner comprising both western and Asian classic dishes and an extensive range of Salads etc.,On my visit I was able to select from a range of Asian or Balinese specials including Friend noodles ,Satay sticks , Fish and Chicken prepared in Balinese style and even some delicious medium rare Roast Beef ,..that was served with western style Potatoe Dauphinoise and other vegetables and Salads etc,.

Whilst the Top deck was my favourite area because after a brisk pre-breakfast swim ,.. was able to lounge around on the Top deck and enjoy an Omelette and the fairly lavish and extensie Breakfast Buffet either western or Balinese/Asian breakfast. They have some excellent t Noodles and Rice Dishes also in the Buffet.I found it really relaxing like belonging to a large frindly family as the staff are really friendly and accomodating and o everything to make your trip enjoyable.
It would be fair to say the friendly hospitality is slightly overwhelming but it really seems genuine and sincere.,..not false and contrived ,..as one often encounters in other Hotels. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, treated us as VIPs as soon as we got out the taxi
Rooms and facilities
I stayed in a Superior room with a massive bathroom and very spacious bedroom with a fabulous comfortable bed large enough for at least 3 people!
The rooms are spacious and comfortable,with classy marble floor and good fixtures and a massive TV and entertainment centre. pacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean.Rooms are huge, nice big waterfall shower. Toiletries were provided.
There was Huge comfy bed my one regret being is I failed to find some to share it with LOL.My room was clean and quiet
Fridge and tea/coffee facilities which I valued as I generally get up at 5 am before the restaurant opens and I need a shot of instant caffeine before I start posting content on my websites.
Hairdryer too. but definitely not required in my case Staff replenished bottled water everyday.
The bed was so large like big enough for 3 people and very comfortable with good support and excellent quality bed lines.”humungous” large and very comfortable and I really felt like a King .In addition there is a charming little balcony opening out onto a courtyard with a tranquil retreat with greenery bamboo and a body of water
All in all it is only a short walk from the beach, surfing, bars, restaurants…. What ever you like if you want to go exploring or venture outside the hotel..
There is no doubt that this Resort Hotel offers convenience and variety which will always contribute to a memorable stay.
My journalist colleagues and I had participated in a hotel organized Balinese Cooking Class (with the Executive Chef and then enjoyed the food that we had cooked and this was a lot of fun and turned onto a happy social occasion,..and I understand such Cooking classes are now available for Guests to experience by request and on a regular basis.
All in all I found the social aspects of mingling with other guests and the Hotel staff as well as my Journalist and Tour colleagues pretty enjoyable,.. and I would seriously consider returning to this Hotel on my own initiative for a relaxing week in Bali.

My room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and varied each day. I had lots of vegetarian options including soy milk for my coffee. The food at the restaurant was reasonably priced and the meals I had were all good. Great cocktails .
I would probably agree the resort could do with some minor aesthetic improvements or a bit of a refresh,..like n but so could the majority of Bali resorts.
Spa and gym
Other amenities and facilities include a spa and gym, so that you can keep up with your wellness and fitness regimes while abroad. The gym offers a wide range of equipment, as well as fitness classes so that you can feel fit and confident when you hit the beach. There is also a swimming pool located on the rooftop, where you can sunbathe and relax, or even catch glimpses of the gorgeous Balinese sunset. It includes a children’s pool area, so you don’t have to worry about what your little ones are up to as you get your laps in.
Recreation and Tours
Outside the Hotel ,..there is also Echo Beach, a fantastic surf spot with an array of seafood cafes nearby, or Kayu Putih Beach, which is where the river meets the sea. When you aren’t feeling the beach hit the Splash Water Park, or Bounce Bali, which both you and the family are bound to love.

Conclusions
I personally was delighted with the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff,..I felt this was genuine and not a contrived politeness,..The Balinese people really are so sincere and friendly,..and this leaves e a positive impression on you. Of course being a regular ocean swimmer in Sydney I really enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar with its amazing views. No doubt this Creates a relaxing and enjoyable environment where you can unwind and take in the beautiful Tropical surroundings and ocean views. It’s great to access unlimited food and drinks reasonably priced and that there were always sunbeds available on the top deck.I got a lot of satisfaction out of the breakfast options which were for me oriented towards local Balinese/Asian cuisine and I could l order eggs to my liking which was a great vegetarian omelette .
All in all it was a delightful staym,, Yes the resort could do probably do with some minor aesthetic improvements like new cushions and blinds etc ,..but who really cares ,.We are in the “post Covid age” and this same thing would apply to the majority of Bali or Thai resorts.
I would certainly return as this property,..it is not absolute 5 Star Luxury ,..but it offers a younger or middle aged demographic a great experience without breaking the budget. Good for Families too.
