Loire Wines Experience at Sydney Good Food and Wine Show
Loire Wines have announced their presence at Sydney’s 2024 Good Food and Wine Show in partnership with Taste France, a brand committed to highlighting French products on the international stage.
Taking place from 21st to 23rd June 2024 at the Sydney International Convention Centre, the Sydney Good Food and Wine Show is a three-day festival showcasing some of best food and drink available in Australia.
This is the first year Loire Wines will be attending the Sydney edition of this annual festival – a key date in all Sydney-based foodies’ diaries – and they will be collaborating with Taste France to bring a selection of five exciting and informative masterclasses all about the vibrant world of Loire Wines.
Hosted by Cassandra Charlick, award-winning wine expert based in Margaret River, these masterclasses will provide consumers with an in-depth knowledge of key aspects of Loire Wines’ identity. The masterclass cycle will be kicked off with ‘From Source to Glass: A Terroir Journey Along the river Loire’ during which Charlick will take participants on a journey spanning the 800km making up the Loire River, exploring in more detail how the climate and landscape makes these wines unique.
To home in on specificities of certain wines, the masterclasses ‘Rosé Moments’ and ‘Exploring Loire’s Sparkling Wonders’ will provide consumers with everything they need to know about some of the Loire’s most iconic products: their rosé wines (notably Rosé d’Anjou and Cabernet d’Anjou) and their sparkling wines(Crémant de Loire, sparkling Vouvray and Saumur, amongst others).
For any foodies out there – the rosé masterclass will focus largely on pairing Loire rosé wines with world foods: showcasing the beautiful diversity within wines from this region. For those new to Loire wines, the ‘Seasonal Showcase’ masterclass would be ideal: this session is devoted to highlighting how wines from the Loire can easily be adapted depending on the seasons, giving consumers insights into which Loire wines work best at what time of year.
For consumers keen on the environment, the ‘Loire is Leading the Way’ masterclass shines a light on the vital work winemakers in the Loire Valley are embarking on in order to remain as environmentally conscious as possible – with a range of biodynamic or organic wines to try. From a leisurely cruise down the Loire River through its wines, or a detailed introduction to Loire’s iconic rosé and sparkling wines, without forgetting the important work on sustainability, these masterclasses are sure to delight and educate all levels of wine-lover.
