Kamala Harris hails the death of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar as a chance to put an end to the war in Gaza.

US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris hails the death of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar as a chance to put an end to the war in Gaza. “This moment gives us an opportunity to finally end the war in Gaza,” Harris says, “and it must end such that Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends.”

Israel army releases images it says shows Sinwar just before he was killed

Footage released by the Israeli army of what it says shows Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar moments before he was killed in Tal as Sultan, in southern Gaza’s Rafah, on Wednesday.

After hailing Sinwar’s death, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu swiftly warned the war “is not over yet” while also offering to spare Hamas militants who lay down their weapons or free October 7 hostages.
