South Eveleigh brings beach vibes to Eveleigh with Summer Club

South Eveleigh will host an urban Summer Club to bring the beach and festive spirit to the precinct for two weeks, beginning December 2. Local workers and visitors will be able to relax and delight in the Summer Club program, with everything from classic Aussie summer treats to ‘surfing’ and a very summery Santa.

Jamie Toko, Mirvac’s Senior Portfolio Manager said: “Following the success of our Winter Series and Live Well programs, we are excited to continue to offer the local community a raft of fun and free activities with our Summer Club, which will transform South Eveleigh into a beach-themed oasis. From social activities like inflatable volleyball to a roving ‘Sandy Clause’, and a designated ‘chill zone’ to unwind, there really is something for everyone.”

Highlights of the weekday program include the Summer Club sweet treat pop-up, which will rotate Aussie beach treats everyday, old school lolly bags, fresh coconuts, and mini pavlovas; a mechanical ride-on surfboard to surf mechanical waves; and a foam pool to relax without the mess of water or sand. Weekends at the Summer Club will include an array of family-friendly offerings, including face painting, balloon artistry, games and music, freebie giveaways and sweet treats.

Summer Club Kiosk – Daily Giveaways
- Times: 10am – 4pm (or until all items are exhausted)
- Location: Innovation Plaza
- Each day, the first 130* customers to spend over $10 at any retailer can visit our Summer Club Kiosk and redeem their receipt for a fun piece of premium Summer Club merch. Think stylish summer caps, tote bags, towels and more!

Summer Club Mini Kiosk – Sweet Treat Pop-up

- Form a team or participate solo, and enjoy some old-fashioned beach volleyball fun at our inflatable court. Plus, we’re serving up a $1K flight centre voucher for one participant who subscribes to our email each day… it’s a no brainer!

The ‘Wave Rider’ – Mechanical Ride-On Surfboard
- Times: 8am – 5pm, Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th & Saturday 14th December
- Location: Innovation Plaza
- Test your skills and surf some killer (mechanical) waves.

Surf Santa at South Eveleigh
- Times: 10am – 2pm, Tuesdays, Thursday & Saturdays from 2 – 14 December.
- Catch a glimpse of the big man in red (shorts) at South Eveleigh this December. Santa will be taking up residence at Summer Club on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays, cruising around and snapping pics with everyone and anyone.

Surf Patrol
- Times: 10am – 2pm, Tuesdays 3 & Thursday 12 December
- Location: Roaming around South Eveleigh Snap a pic and score a cuddle with our resident fur-guard and accompanying lifeguard companion.

Summer Snaps at the Sandy Clause Photo Booth
- Times: Precinct Hours, Monday 2 – Sunday 15 December
- Location: Innovation Plaza
- Workers and the local community are encouraged to come together and pose for an ‘awkward team/family photo’ at our Summer Club Santa set. The set will be open across the 2 weeks, with a dedicated helper at the set to take your own photos on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturdays, from 10am – 2pm.

Hit the SpongePool
- Times, Monday 2 – Sunday 15 December
- Anyone can take a dip and photo in our truly unique foam-pool. Filled with squishy foam pieces, this chill-out zone is the perfect location for a relaxing hang or break from the daily grind, without the mess of water and sand!

- Transforming into the ultimate chill zone, Mitchell Way will be adorned with beach chairs, umbrellas, interactive games and more.

More than 4,000 personnel on the ground as clean up and road repairs continue in flood impacted communities

Published:28 May 2025More than 4,000 people representing NSW Government agencies are on-the-ground across the Hunter and Mid North Coast completing rapid impact assessments, coordinating a clean-up blitz, repairing roads and undertaking other recovery work.Workers and volunteers from across the NSW Government, interstate and overseas are on the ground in impacted communities, and teams continue to be deployed to assist with early recovery.The NSW Government teams include 2,220 State Emergency Service volunteers assisting with recovery efforts, with 350 people supporting from the Rural Fire Service, and around 250 people from Fire and Rescue NSW.There are also 650 staff and contractors from Transport for NSW, working across the road and transport network to restore access to roads.Crews have already removed more than 1,500 tonnes of debris from the state road network. Emergency operations underway ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred

4 March 2025Released by: Minister for Emergency ServicesDeployments of additional crews from the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) have begun arriving in the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast as the NSW Government ramps up preparations for the potential impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.The NSW SES is leading the response and working with other emergency services and government agencies to get ready for the cyclone which is expected to cross the Queensland coast later this week.The NSW SES will be able to draw from thousands of volunteers with support from flood rescue trained emergency service personnel across NSW Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW, and Marine Rescue NSW. All are equipped with flood response and wider capabilities.Residents of the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast should prepare for damaging winds, large surf, and heavy rainfall, with impacts of the cyclone forecast to be felt from as early as today (Tuesday).
