A Who’s Who of Australia’s music world have come through the studios of 2MBS – and many of them have recorded congratulatory messages that will air throughout December.
Key personalities in the station’s history include the late Richard Gill AO, Jill Hickson (a current presenter) and Wharf Revue star and Australian musical satire star Phil Scott (original director of programming in 1975!).
Phil recently shared some terrific stories with current 2MBS chairperson and presenter Simon Moore on “In Conversation” (pictured above).
Phil will perform (by video) a star turn at the 12 December dinner.
Original volunteers still hugely involved include presenter Owen Fisher (about to broadcast his 1000th show), David James (the station’s first general manager),
Dr Neena Beretin (artistic director of Phoenix Central Park), Prof Michael Field AM (on the board of the WHO) and longest-serving current presenter Charles Barton OAM.
Among 2MBS’ newest presenters is young First Nations musician Maddy Monjo. All are available for interview!
The December edition of the 2MBS Fine Music magazine is out today too, with artist and composer features, a volunteer spotlight (Owen Fisher), the popular music quiz and monthly program guide.
