Te Paepae Aora’i – Where the Gods Cannot be Fooled

Installation has begun for the highly anticipated SaVĀge K’lub, first conceived by artist and scholar Rosanna Raymond in 2010. Presented alongside Gauguin’s World: Tōna Iho, Tōna Ao, the SaVĀge K’lub draws upon Moana-based creative practices and protocols to explore ideas of hospitality, culture and identity.

Experience the lifelong artistic adventures of leading pioneers of twentieth-century Modernism, Anni and Josef Albers. Guided by Josef’s theory of colour and Anni’s formal exploration of pattern making and weaving, the exhibition brings together prints from the National Gallery’s Kenneth E. Tyler Collection along with paintings and archival materials.

Accompanying exhibition programs include screenprinting demonstrations, workshops and school holiday activities.
