Our 2025 program is here-State Library!

Dear friends,
Today, I am excited to share our 2025 program — a year filled with transformative storytelling, compelling programs and more unforgettable experiences. From the underground auditorium to the rooftop bar — and across the state — we’re bringing new stories and ideas to life.
With the passion and expertise of our Library team, and the support of the Library Foundation, 2025 is set to be a year full of wonder, joy and discovery.
We can’t wait for you to be part of it!

Highlights

Your place of culture
We’re collaborating with the state’s top festivals and organisations, as well as leading creatives including William Barton, Skye McIntosh & the Australian Haydn Ensemble (pictured), and Stephen Page. The David Scott Mitchell Oration returns, featuring Kim Williams AM.

Free world-class exhibitions
Starting with the opening tomorrow of PIX, our vibrant line-up of free exhibitions in 2025 also includes a major display of artists’ books from the Library’s collection and a celebration of renowned Murri photographer Mervyn Bishop.

The year of architecture
We’re celebrating our love for architecture through Tim Ross and his The Australian Dream? live show and exhibition, as well as an exciting program of talks with Australia’s leading architects and special collection viewings.

For kids and families
We’ll unveil our new interactive family gallery in September, with the whimsical and beloved works of children’s author Pamela Allen. Plus, we’re introducing monthly Family Sundays from February.
We will keep you updated as events are announced and on-sale.
