VIVID LIGHT FESTIVAL
VIVID Sydney 2024 – City Sparkle is 32 Hundred Lighting’s vast symphony of light beams that plays across the skyline, dazzling Sydneysiders and visitors alike. This year, the light show incorporates 62 pillars of light and interactive sequencing. Fifteen giant Aquabeams shine from the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge along with innovative sparkle points LED tubes that illuminate the arch and road deck. To complement this beacon, light beams from atop Bennelong Apartments, Overseas Passenger Terminal and Cahill Expressway, with sparkle points on 18 separate CBD building rooftops. Another 13 façades are saturated with colour. By linking Sydney’s landmarks, this luminous array offers an unmatched spectacle that can be experienced from vantage points near and far. Gill Minervini, Festival Director and Curator of Vivid Light, highlights that this year’s Vivid Light Walk will offer a unique insight into the essence of humanity.
“Illuminating Sydney’s stunning harbourfront and CBD with vibrant bursts of colour, mesmerising artworks and dynamic 3D projections, Vivid Light beckons everyone to immerse themselves in a display of human creativity and experience. In 2024, we emphasise works of grand scale, interactivity and profound meaning, delving into the rich tapestry of human experience through exclusive artist collaborations only found at Vivid Sydney,” said Ms Minervini.
Global Rainbow, from US artist Yvette Mattern, showcases beams of rainbow lasers fanning out from the iconic Sydney Tower, extending for up to 40km. This universal symbol of hope and love will bask Sydney in vibrant hues as a guiding light to Vivid Sydney.
