Asian migrants  should consider Aboriginal history when voting in Voice referendum

Dear Editor

The Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said to talk to our neighbours to get them to vote Yes in the referendum. I think recent Asian arrivals should consider the Australian Aborigines have been here continuosly for 65, 000 years. My family have been here for 150. So they have a much longer claim on the land and deserve a special recognition of that in the constitution. It flows on from that special position that they deserve a special say in matters that affect them. They have asked for a Voice and to say no to the original owners of this land is disrespectful. Especially when we took the land without asking and our culture has tried to wipe out theirs.
Incidentally, I looked up on Microsoft artificial intelligence search engine Bard how old Chinese civilization was (8,000 years) which shows how special Aboriginal culture is (at 60,000 years) the planet’s oldest by far.
Bard says:
The Chinese race is not a monolithic entity, and its history and culture are vast and complex. To say that it has a single age is therefore impossible.

The earliest known hominins in China, Homo erectus, lived there over 1 million years ago. The first modern humans arrived in China around 70,000 years ago. The Chinese civilization, which is one of the oldest in the world, began to develop around 5,000 years ago.

Today, there are over 56 different ethnic groups in China, each with its own unique history and culture. The Han Chinese are the largest ethnic group in China, making up about 92% of the population. The other major ethnic groups include the Uyghurs, Tibetans, Manchus, Mongols, and Zhuang.

To say that the Chinese race is a single age is therefore inaccurate. The Chinese people have a long and rich history, and their culture is one of the oldest in the world.
