The Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA) hosts 2025 Indigenous Suicide
Prevention Forum in Eora/Sydney

Eora/Sydney, New South Wales – The Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA), in partnership with Aventedge, is proud to host the 2025 Indigenous Suicide Prevention Forum, to be held from March 4-6 at the Novotel Brighton Beach, Sydney.

This transformative event is dedicated to amplifying First Nations voices, fostering collaboration, and driving impactful solutions in Indigenous suicide prevention.

The forum will bring together a diverse group of attendees, including community members, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), mental health practitioners, policy makers, and grassroots leaders. Over three days, participants will engage in rich dialogues, explore cutting- edge strategies, and participate in culturally immersive healing experiences.

“The Indigenous Suicide Prevention Forum provides an invaluable platform to celebrate and share community-led initiatives that are making a difference across our nation,” says Vanessa Edwige, Chair of AIPA. “Together, we aim to elevate these initiatives and co-create pathways to healing, self- determination, and lasting change.”

On-Country Healing Workshop & Cultural Cruise:

Participants will connect with Country, engage in art therapy, and hear the stories of the Traditional Custodians during a cultural cruise around Sydney Harbour. These activities will
integrate cultural significance with practical tools for healing and resilience.

Panel Discussions and Case Studies:

Learn from community leaders and practitioners who are at the forefront of culturally informed care and grassroots healing initiatives.
