Sydney, Australia – The Other Art Fair, the leading international art fair for independent artists, is excited to announce the full program for its upcoming Sydney edition this month. With over 130 artists, unforgettable art experiences and a few surprises, it’s sure to be a great fair.
The Other Art Fair continues its mission to reframe art and how it’s enjoyed: offering a fair that’s inclusive, evocative and inspiring, with a vibrant program filled with features, workshops, immersive installations, DJs – and of course a fully stocked bar.

Highlights include Sydney-based Illustrator and graphic artist Aley Wild who will be on hand to capture your Wild side. Come bare all for Aley with your object of choice during the fair and she’ll do a quick 3 minute nude illustration for you to keep for free.

“With a program that is diverse and jam-packed, there is truly something for everyone,” says Luke Potkin, Fair Director. “Whether you’re interested in thought-provoking works such as ‘Just Curious’ by young performance artists with disabilities, or something more cheeky like Aley Wild’s Illicit Illustrations, we’ve got you covered. And don’t worry, Aley has a great imagination, so you can keep your clothes on – if you want to!”

‘Just Curious’ has been in the works since the middle of February and performers rehearsed over 8 weeks in preparation for filming. Post-production and editing is still happening, but will be ready just in time for the debut at the Sydney fair. The Other Art Fair is proud to welcome artists Ren Wiggins,
Cleo Young, Hannah Magdaluyo, Charlotte Mac Sweeney and Bill Stellar and acknowledge neurodivergent and disabled people as consistent contributors and often trailblazers in the art world.
The fair takes place at The Cutaway at Barangaroo from 11 to 14 May. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the frankie magazine x Studio Flos Paper Cut Art Workshop, get a live tattoo, view Together2 Youth Theatre’s performance and installation work, see the works of
New Futures winners in partnership with Ovolo Hotels, and of course have the opportunity to discover and purchase artwork directly from the artists, as well as grab a drink and dance to DJs.

Features:
● Illicit Illustrations with Aley Wild
Sydney-based Illustrator and graphic artist Aley Wild is looking to capture your Wild side at The Other Art Fair. Come and visit during the fair and strike a pose with your object of choice and Aley will create for you your very own slightly-naughty nude to take away with you.

● ‘Just Curious’ – featured performance artwork: The Other Art Fair debuts ‘Just Curious’, a brand new performance and installation work created by young artists with disabilities, in partnership with Together2 Youth Theatre. The work will give visitors the opportunity to see through the eyes of young people with physical, social or behavioural differences and
experience what it’s like to exist in often inaccessible public spaces and be subject to the constant gaze of the public. This is done by manipulating performance, movement,
soundscapes and digital graphics.

● frankie magazine x Studio Flos Paper Cut Art Workshop: Illustrator and paper artist wizard, Claire Cassidy from Studio Flos will guide you through your very own paper creation
to take home. You can also get a frankie tote bag filled with treats worth $70! Workshops are priced at $30 and can be purchased in advance or on-the-door (first come, first served) via the add-ons section on the tickets page

Workshop session times:
– Friday 12 May: 7-9pm.
– Saturday 13 May: 3-5pm.
– Sunday 14 May: 12-2pm.

● New Futures in Partnership with Ovolo Hotels: We congratulate our winners: QuirkyBones and Elliot Guerissi-Watson. The artists will be debuting their works at the fair and
will then work with Ovolo Woolloomooloo Hotel in selecting a piece to go on display at their hotel, alongside some specially curated ‘meet the artists’ events and activations.
● Live Tattoos: Get inked live at the fair with exclusive designs by our resident tattoo artists including Ink Sphinx and Nah Mate Pokes. Starting from $150, take home a piece of art
where you are the canvas.
● The Other Store: Step into the mystical merch shop in collaboration with Magic Castles, exclusive to our 2023 global fairs. Discover a limited edition line of shoppers, tees and caps designed with magic and art in mind.
