Major Flooding and Emergency warnings issued for Mid North Coast and Hunter regions

-Some communities now isolated due to major flooding

Wednesday,21 May 2025
Emergency warnings have been issued with some communities now isolated due to major flooding in the Mid North Coast and Hunter regions.
NSW SES is urging the community to monitor conditions, know their risk and leave early if required.
Over the next 24 hours rainfall totals in excess of 140mm are likely, with higher isolated rainfall totals closer to 200mm possible in some areas. This will cause flash flooding and further riverine flooding on coastal catchments.
If you are in a high risk area, do NOT to wait until it’s too late.
NEVER drive, walk or play in floodwaters and if your community becomes isolated, do not try to leave.
The Northern NSW community will be well supported by the NSW SES with additional flood rescue teams, aviation assets and volunteers positioned to respond to any requests for assistance.
Monitor warnings via the Hazards Near Me app.
For evacuation centre locations and more information, head to the NSW SES website.
Visit the Live Traffic NSW website for the latest road closures and traffic conditions.
If you require assistance in floods or storms, call 132 500. In life threatening situations, call Triple Zero (000).
