FESTIVAL GUEST MARGHERITA VICARIO
The festival was excited to welcome Margherita Vicario, dynamic Italian actor, singer, songwriter and director of Opening Night selection Gloria! She was in attendance at Opening Night Galas in Sydney and Melbourne andalso held Q&A sessions in both cities,Sydney and Melbourne.
Margherita Vicario (born in Rome in 1988) is an actress, singer-songwriter and filmmaker.During her academic years at the European Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome she produced her debut album as a singer-songwriter ‘Minimal Musical’.
In 2014, whilst acting in films and television series, she also toured clubs and theatres with her first concert show “LEM LEM – Free Musical Experiments”.
Pursuing careers as both actress and musician, she released her second album “Bingo” in 2021. She works with artists such as Francesco Guccini, Vasco Brondi, Elodie, Rancore, and many others.
In 2023, she directed Gloria! her first feature film, co-writing the screenplay with Anita Rivaroli and the music with Davide Pavanello.
FESTIVAL AMBASSADOR SILVIA COLLOCA
Silvia is an Italian born food writer, actor, TV producer, Opera trained mezzo-soprano and host and joins the festival as our official Ambassador. She has authored five cookbooks and is due to release her sixth this year called The Italian Homecook and her next TV series for Channel TEN, called Silvia’s Italian Masterclass.
Her Italian heritage (her parents still reside in Abruzzo), coupled with extensive experience in the entertainment industry and a love of Italian cinema, travel and culture, makes her more than qualified to talk all things Italian!
Silvia WAS in attendance at the Opening Night Galas in Sydney and Melbourne.
