No spin. No party lines. Just real conversations.
Dear Reader
I want to tell you about my brand new podcast — The Independents.
This election, a group of incredible, community-backed independents are taking on the major parties, and I got to sit down with some of them for a proper chat.
No spin, no party lines — just real conversations about who they are, what drives them, and their plans for this election, and beyond.
We’ve dropped a bunch of episodes, and there’s more to come — so go on, hit subscribe on your podcast app, or click the link below! |
They’re a fascinating bunch — a marathon runner, a couple of doctors, a nurse or two, an olympic ski champion, a national radio host, even an ex intelligence agent.
And now? They’re all fighting to bring transparency, integrity and a big dose of climate action to parliament.
From parliamentary stalwarts like Zali Steggel (first she knocks Tony Abbott out of parliament and then I find out she speaks fluent French — is there anything this woman can’t do?) to national radio host Alex Dyson. He had his first crack at Parliament in 2019, announcing his policies in an interpretive dance (and we all know there’s not enough interpretive dance in politics today.) His commitment to his electorate of Wannon in rural Victoria has never wavered, and now he’s back for a third time with a real shot at winning.
What struck me about these independents is how refreshing they are. They don’t have talking points. They’re open and honest and told me things you just don’t hear from the other politicians — none of it has the whiff of political packaging.
So if you’ve ever wanted to get to know the independents making waves in Australian politics, now’s your chance. Listen wherever you get your podcasts. |
