The Easter Bunny is back in town for Cumberland City Council’s Easter Celebrations on Saturday 12 April at Central Gardens Nature Reserve in Merrylands West, from 10am to 2pm.
The family-friendly event will include free activities and highlight the true meaning of Easter, combining festive fun with moments of reflection on faith, renewal, and hope. Free activities include meet and greets with the Easter Bunny, egg hunts, facepainting, glitter tattoos, hair braiding, slime workshops, balloon twisting, craft activities, a petting zoo and rides!
For many residents across Cumberland, Easter is an important religious holiday and a significant time of worship. Coinciding with school holidays, the joyous festivities are a time for celebrating faith, family gatherings, community connections, and outdoor activities.
Cumberland Mayor, Ola Hamed, stated that as Easter is an important time for reflection, faith and renewal it is the perfect chance for families in our community to come together and celebrate these values.
“Easter holds a special place for many members of our community, so it’s great to have the opportunity to celebrate with them,” Mayor Hamed said.
“With a variety of free activities for the whole family, I invite everyone to come along and join a much-anticipated event, and make this Easter a meaningful one for all.”
Eventgoers will also enjoy a range of delicious festival food, including gozleme, ice cream, fairy floss, chips on a stick and more. While all activities are free, food will be available for purchase from vendors. Due to popular demand, registrations for Easter Egg Hunts have reached capacity. Council is very encouraged by the excitement surrounding this activity and will be adding more sessions closer to the event. Keep a close watch on Council’s website and social media for updates on new sessions.
