Most average job opportunity now open.
Women need only apply
19 august,2024
Applications have opened today for a full-time role available only to women. The only qualification for the job is that the applicants must be female and willing to earn less than a man. Specifically, the successful woman will have to work 50 days for free each year in
contrast to her male counterpart.
Equal Pay Day, 19 August, marks 50 days into the new financial year in recognition of the fact the average woman would have to work 50 extra days to earn the same amount as a man.
Beyond her paid duties in the professional role, the woman is also required to have significant additional responsibilities in the form of caretaking and other housekeeping tasks. These tasks must be conducted outside of her partly funded working environment.
“This clearly represents an extremely average deal for women,” said VERVE Super Director Amanda Chase. “The purpose of this campaign is to draw attention to the appalling gender pay gap that women are still experiencing and provide the tools to help shift this inequality.
Women are absolutely fed up with inaction and horrendous pay conditions. On Equal Pay Day we believe it is important to lead with action and so we have created this campaign to assist women to raise the issue of gender pay gap with their organisations.”
VERVE Super has today posted this job ad across LinkedIn. The intention behind the campaign is to highlight the frustration and lack of meaningful action on the gender pay gap. As well as the gender pay gap, the superannuation savings gap between men and women is an issue that affects the ability of women to retire comfortably. The latest statistics show a 25% difference, with the median balance for those aged 60 to 64 at
$211,996 for males and $158,806 for females. The gender pay gap is an enormous contributing factor to this stubborn problem.
People concerned can check out their employer’s pay gap data and download a toolkit on how to address their concerns with their employer. The toolkit includes meaningful action individuals can take as well as a template to use to send to their employer outlining the poor gender pay gap and steps they can take to address it.
