Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, reimagined wine tasting experience Transcend by Penfolds returns for a limited time. A multi-sensory journey of exploration – combining storytelling, visuals, lighting and an engaging soundscape – the 45-minute tasting experience will offer guests a deeper understanding of a curated selection of Penfolds wines, against a soundtrack of storytelling.
As part of Transcend by Penfolds, guests can also experience the Penfolds Lounge, a wine bar offering a curated list of Penfolds best wines by the glass, including Grange. Open daily to walk-ins from May 2 – 11, the Penfolds Lounge will also highlight wines made by Penfolds in the best global winemaking regions – including
Australia, USA and France.

“The return of Transcend by Penfolds with the introduction of the Penfolds Lounge is an opportunity for wine lovers to experience the wines we are making outside of Australia in leading regions like France and the USA. For more than 180 years, Penfolds,has been curious and always approached things in unique and different ways. We have created the ultimate wine tasting and wine bar experience in the centre of the CBD, and will serve a collection of our wines – including our flagship Grange – that often aren’t available by the glass. This is Penfolds in an immersive andmunexpected setting.”
Those visiting the Penfolds Lounge can try many of the same wines available in the Transcend experience, including Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia. Other wines on offer include Bin 600 Cabernet Shiraz, containing fruit sourced from the Napa Valley and Paso Robles, and FWT 585 Cabernet Petit Verdot Merlot, a
Vin de France with fruit sourced throughout Bordeaux.
To complement each pour, guests can also savour a selection of menu items and delicious snacks available for purchase, including Victor Churchill Wagyu Bresaola Carpaccio, Sicilian Castelvetrano olives, and a Luxury Grazing Board with Salmon Rillettes, Cornichons and Grilled Sourdough.
Penfolds winemaking now spans four country of origin releases, with wine made from exceptional vineyards across Australia, USA, France and China. Penfolds winemakers traverse hemispheres to source the best grapes from the best regions, though each wine holds a distinctive Penfolds stamp, underpinned by a
recognisable ‘House Style’ that has been upheld for more than 180 years.
The Transcend tasting experience will follow a journey through hemispheres, showcasing Penfolds wines from the USA and France before reaching its crescendo in Australia as guests are presented with a Grange Palate Cleanser, designed to refresh the palate ahead of tasting Penfolds flagship, Grange. This striking interlude, a
surprising expression of Penfolds x Thiénot Rosé Champagne, was designed by Magill Estate Restaurant Director and Chef Scott Huggins, in collaboration with Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago.
Transcend by Penfolds and the Penfolds Lounge are located within Sydney Arcade at 400 George Street.
From 2 May – 11 May, the Lounge is open daily to walk-in guests:
Monday – Friday 3:00PM to 9:00PM, Saturday & Sunday 12:30PM to 9:00PM.
