World Salmon Day!
October the 8th is world salmon day!
Salmon is the perfect blend of tasty and healthy. It can feature as the core protein on your dishes and provide you with all the goodness of a superfood without having to compromise on taste.
Salmon is recognised as a superfood because of its nutrient profile and health-protecting qualities, making it a great way to fuel your body. The superfood status is a result of salmon containing large amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids and being low in saturated fat and calories yet high in protein.
As you know salmon is one of the easiest proteins to prepare as it can be served both raw and completely cooked through, so no matter how you prefer your salmon it will be delicious to eat. One of our favourite ways of cooking salmon is in the air fryer. Taking just 8 minutes at 200°C to cook, pre-heat the air fryer, place the salmon skin side up and drizzle a little oil over the skin and sprinkle some salt, and you’ll have a scrumptious crispy skin and perfectly cooked salmon. Serve with your favourite sides.
To all of our Tasmanian friends, the Tasmanian Salmon Growers Association is running a competition where you could win a $250 restaurant voucher to use in Tasmania.
