Sydney Light Rail disruptions on Wednesday 29 May-Industrial action averted !!

Sydney’s Light Rail network will be disrupted on Wednesday due to protected industrial action

-Industrial action averted !!

Union members will stop work on Wednesday 29 May between 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm meaning no trams will run on L1, L2 or L3 lines during those times.

Transdev is advising customers to plan ahead for Wednesday as the network could also be impacted up to 1 hour before and after the action periods.

Transdev Sydney Managing Director Arsene Durand-Raucher said he apologised to customers for the service disruptions which will impact commuters, schools and Vivid Festival attendees.

“We are working hard with transport partners to minimise impact to customers caused by this industrial action,” Mr Durand-Raucher said.

“Customers should plan ahead and consider alternate transport options this Wednesday or, if possible, avoid non-essential travel on the trams.

“We’ve alerted schools located near the light rail, and on the day, we will have as many personnel as possible on the ground to help manage the disruption.

“We continue to work closely with Transport to minimise impacts to Parramatta Light Rail testing and commissioning activities.

“We are committed to continue to negotiate in good faith with our employees through the Rail Tram and Bus Union.

“We thank customers for their patience during this industrial action as we continue working with the Union to resolve our new Enterprise Agreement”.
