HIT COMEDY ‘SPEED’ COMES TO SO SOIREE FRINGE FESTIVAL
Smash hit comedy "Speed: The Movie, The Play" explodes at Prahran’s So Soiree There is a bomb on a bus. If the bus drops below 50 miles per hour, the bomb will explode. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?
Cult comedy Speed: The Movie, The Play will have its Victorian premiere at this year’s So Soirée Fringe Garden – presented by the City of Stonnington and part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
On from October 10 to 22 the one-hour show in Prahran Square is a loving parody of the 1994 action thriller Speed.
It stars all the characters played by Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock and Dennis Hopper, in the original film, in which a bus is rigged to explode should its speed fall below 50 miles per hour.This is a high-octane, low-fi nostalgia trip that roars along like a roller coaster," said the show’s producer and co- writer Natalie Bochenski.
Our audiences become the passengers held hostage on the bus, creating a hilarious immersive experience.”
Speed: The Movie, The Play; has been a smash hit at the Adelaide Fringe Festival (2023), Brisbane Comedy Festival
(2015,2022), Perth FRINGE WORLD (2017, 2020), Sydney Fringe (2019), and the North Australian Festival of Arts in Townsville (2022).
